I just got an email from Jim Matheson, my representative for the 2nd District of Utah. I really like the way he communicates with his constituents.
He does public, town meetings with a large number of people over the phone. He asks what our concerns are, and tries to respond to them. He sends out surveys by email and asks for feedback.
And boy do I give him feedback. He’s concerned about people having access to “quality” healthcare. Well, who determines what is quality? The American Medical Association? The pharmaceutical industry? Doctors? Most of these folks are financially vested in keeping the current system mostly the way it is. Read more…
