I recommend the things I love best based on my personal repeated experience and use. If I ever do receive something for free to review, I will be sure to state that in my writing. Walking the Freedom Trail

History was never my favorite subject in school. Part of the reason is the way it was taught to me, by professors, out of textbooks – boring! It made me think that history was just a bunch of dates, names and facts that had no practical relevance to me. I couldn’t have cared less.

After reading A Thomas Jefferson Education, I think about “learning” differently, and I see history through new eyes. I have more of a desire to know WHY things happened and pass that desire on to my children. For this reason, I jumped at the opportunity to accompany Mike to his continuing medical education conference in Boston with our older kids. It was a chance to make history come alive for us. Chili and Then Some

Posted in Food

I’ve had this recipe for many years, and it’s always been a main staple for our family. The seasonings are what make it so flavorful. Bland chili is a disappointment to me, so I really like to give ours some zip.

How I Eliminated My Son’s Eczema

My oldest son, Noah was born with sensitive skin – extremely sensitive.  He was a happy baby with baby zits and an adorable smile. We thought he just had dry skin because we live in the desert.

Em & Baby Noah

His cheeks were always red from the dryness.  But it also affected him in his cute little rolls, his elbows, back of his knees, and his ankles. Read more…

Winning Remedy For Eye Problems & Infections

Many people have called me over the years for an easy eye infection remedy. Some of them were frustrated with conventional medicines that weren’t working.  I’ve had lots of friends ask me about pink eye. My neighbor called me recently because her daughter had gotten a tiny twig or piece of bark in her eye, it had gotten scratched, and they were wondering how to help it heal.

I LOVE helping people with eye problems, because this remedy has worked EVERY TIME. I’ve used it on myself and my children over the years with reliable success. Read more…

Our Boston Trip: Learning About the Revolution

This year we chose Boston as the place for Mike to do his Continuing Medical Education. We decided to bring along our oldest 3, and visit my cousin, Lisa and her husband, Dave, who live there with their 6 children.

Boston Fall Leaves

We saw the beautiful Boston fall leaves

We had a blast! We packed so much into each day, it amazed us all. The education and inspiration we got from each one of these days is equivalent to a month of formal learning, in my reckoning. Good planning helped and so did super helpful hosts. Read more…

Kids Making Dinner: An Inspiring Tradition From Boston

The first day we spent in Boston was with my cousin, Lisa and her family.

Boyce Family

The Boyce Family on the Old North Bridge in Concord

They were so awesome to us! As they drove us all over the place that day, they informed us, that for a couple hours of the afternoon their children were going to prepare the dinner for all of us. Of course, I was immediately intrigued.

Lisa told me that a couple years previous, her husband had expressed the desire to have company for dinner on Sunday nights. With him traveling often, she responded that if it were going to happen, the kids would need to do the dinner, and he would need to clean up. Like me, Lisa also has 6 kids, and knew she couldn’t run the whole show herself 7 days a week with no break. So they started this tradition of their kids all making the dinner each Sunday.

How I Resolved Uterine Fibroids & Prevented More Miscarraige

EmiliHi there! This is Jenni’s younger sister, Emili, here to explain one of my greatest lessons that I learned from a difficult personal experience.

Disclaimer: I will be talking about “women issues” openly. Please do not read this post if that bothers you.

I have always loved children. Whether it be babysitting a big family (which I did often when I was young), helping a family with small children stay quiet in Church or a new baby in the family, I was always the one in the middle of it.

I felt I could relate to kids in a special way and it always made me happy to be playing. If there was a baby in the room, I was usually the one holding it. So, naturally I have always wanted a big family of my own. Read more…
